The reason why the corner of B column fractured is that the area was impacted by the drawbead at the corner. When drawbead at the larger ends of punch-pin and die is too high, the local material feeding resistance will also be too high so that fracture is resulted. The corresponding strain path analysis shows also that when the drawbead is lowered, the path becomes simpler and fracture potential is reduced. In addition, by measuring the height of wrinkling where it occurs, and comparing with numerical simulations, it is seen that as far as hot pressing is concerned, it is feasible to follow the traditional criterion for wrinkling,i.e., the slab area corresponding to the strain spots below the pure shear plane for different temperatures, is considered to wrinkle.
