Pyrolysis volatiles once formed, would quickly be blown away by the purge gas from the pyrolysis reaction zone to avoid the residual solids and temperature acting on the secondary cracking. Therefore, in the GC product detected, the vast majority of biomass pyrolysis were once formed, thus fundamentally guaranteed the reliability and validityby of mechanism of biomass pyrolysis on GC analysis . Biomass pyrolysis volatiles included non-condensable gases (CO, CO2, CH4 and H2, etc.), condensable organic products, as well as non-volatile oligomers (oligosaccharides or pyrolytic lignin), of which the latter two categories condensed to obtain the bio-oil. GC analysis can be used on condensable organic products.
