找博后外导写了一堆问题，是什么意思？

刚又收到一封回信，德国的一位老师，一个小时左右就回信了，给我列了一堆问题，说回答了再考虑是否给面试机会。 以下是问题： (1) Please let us know which of the projects listed in the advert or which of our current projects on our web pages: you would find particularly appealing and close to your background and research interests and why. (2) Please also scan through our publication list and pick out one or two papers that we can discuss in more detail in the interview. Please describe briefly the motivation for your choice. (3) Please describe in a few sentences: what are, in your view, the main limitations of XX, that main tool used in our department? Given sufficient XX time, how could these limitation be overcome? (4) How would you describe to a physics student why complex many-body systems such as biological macromolecules tend towards their free energy minimum rather than minimizing their potential energy? How long does it typically take to reach this free energy minimum? (5) If you could do any project of your choice in XX (not restricted to the projects listed on our webpages), what would you choose? Why? Your replies to these questions will help us very much to decide how to proceed with your application and decide on a possible interview.
