Reviewers' comments: Reviewer #1: The paper has been improved and may be published after the following further corrections: Page 2, 2.2 Apparatus and procedure: The second line has to read: "....densitometer with estimated reproducibility of ± 1×10-5 g cm-3." (The author still does not understand the difference between reproducibility and accuracy). - Page 3, end of line 3 from above must be changed to: "...., in density approximately ± 1× 10-4 g cm-3, and in volume ± 1×10-3 cm3 mol-1." (The present values given in the ms. are only guesses and not compatible with accuracies in temperature of 10 m K!). - Page 3, 3.Results and discussion, last paragraph, first sentence should end:"....VmE is positive over the whole composition range and increases with the temperature." - Then the rest of this last paragraph has to be replaced by:" All maxima occur at x1~0.5, and are larger for the mixtures with 1,3,5-trimethylbenzene than with 1,2,4-trimethylbenzene. Since the attractive interactions by physical forces between the lactone and the trimethylbenzenes will be very similar, apparently the slightly bulkier molecular shape of 1,3,5-trimethylbenzene also causes slightly higher maxima of VmE in its mixtures." - In Table 1, 2, and 3 only four significant digits after the decimal point can be given for the densities (!). Change all. - In table 4 for all coefficients Ai and also for |
