As long as the light energy absorbed by the semiconductor is less than the gap of restricted band  and make the electrons sexcitated  and holes produced, the semiconductor can be used as a photocatalyst.
本人愚钝,光能和禁带宽度可以比较吗?是吸收光的波长吗?

So long as the semiconducto rthat absorbs the energy of light is smaller than its energy gap, can it stimulated produce the electron and the hole sufficiently, this semiconductor on possibly serves as the photocatalyst.
