一天就收到ssci的超长拒稿信，意见很中肯！（含意见原文及翻译） 已有11人参与

昨天把第一次投ssci刊物的情况发到了这里（原帖：http://muchong.com/bbs/viewthread.php?tid=6287920&fpage=1&target=self&page=1），承蒙各位大神的指点，我转投了另一个影响一点多的刊物，今天又收到了拒稿信，但和上一次郁闷的心情不同，这一次很感动，editor-in-chief 针对我的引言和讨论及论文的结构提出了五大条修改意见（附在下面），条条命中要害。看来这篇文章要想发表，还需要动大手术了。 由于英文论文本身是我带的一名本科生写出来的（结合了他和另外一名本科生的毕业论文），我只是给了他思路和研究方法、数据处理方法，提供了实验场所，并在毕业论文指导时期和后续的英文论文形成时期进行了几次大的修改，感觉自己贡献不够大，就让学生一作我二作（另一名学生三作）。虽然对引言部分不满意，但苦于我时间有限，学生虽然能力较强但毕竟是个本科生，就没有大动干戈，直接拿出来投稿了。 第一次被拒时比较郁闷，因为英文是我一句一句改出来的，自我感觉良好，却被告知不行，很受打击。这一次主编给出中肯可行的意见，我都很认可，可接下来该怎么做又很迷茫了。不知道我那可怜的学生能否完成这样的修改，可如果我来做，就不甘心仅仅当个二作了。不知我这种想法是不是有点狭隘？ 下面贴出五条建议供大家参考和交流，顺便帮我分析一下，如果按照要求修改并重投，接受的可能性大不大？还有，这篇拒稿信没怎么提到英文，能不能说明英文还凑合啊？用不用再找人修改英文了？谢谢！ 下面是主编的回信，我逐条翻译了一下，供大家参考。水平有限，翻译未免有纰漏，还望见谅！ 1. Add from one to three introductory paragraphs explaining the overall purpose of the paper and how it potentially adds to our existing knowledge about gender issues and about the specific research questions you are addressing. Briefly mention the underlying theoretical framework and basic methodology used to address the research questions examined in your research. (1.引言部分添加1-3段来解释论文的总目的、对现有关于性别问题知识的补益以及你所研究的具体问题。简要提及你所用于研究这些问题的理论框架和基本的方法论。) 2. Consider the cultural context. Explicitly note, early in the Introduction, that you are looking at attitudes of Chinese undergraduate women and men. Add at least a page of text about gender beliefs in China and how these might relate to the variables you are investigating. Use this information in developing a rationale for your hypotheses. （2.注意文化背景，在引言部分明确指出你如何看待中国男女大学生的态度。至少添加一页的文本来阐述中国的性别信念以及这种性别信念如何与你所调查的变量产生联系。并依据这些信息建立你的假设。） As you review related research, be sensitive to and note what types of samples were used and where the studies were done. Note what country each empirical study you cite was done in and explain how any cited studies done in other countries are relevant in understanding your sample. Do not attempt to generalize about Western culture. This identification of samples will need to be done as you summarize the research now discussed in the first paragraph as well as throughout the Introduction and Discussion. Make sure that any generalization you make about theories, societal changes or research findings has a supporting citation where the interested reader can find out more about this issue. Such citations are needed for each of the points being made in the first paragraph of your paper, for example. To support the generalizations you now make, you could add one or two representative citations and use "e.g." or a website or regular citation. Or, you can use language such as "as will be discussed later." Theory related to empirical data. Make sure that the underlying theory and previously published data relating to each of the independent and dependent variables and controls is discussed in the Introduction. This discussion should provide a rationale for each prediction and explain WHY your predictions should be supported. Any subscales used in the analysis need to be treated as separate variables. Add a summary at the end of the Introduction about the specific hypotheses being tested. Be sure to state these in ways that do allow direct testing and refer to the actual variables being used. Be careful not to make null hypotheses predicting no difference between groups. Make sure that any variables that appear in the later analyses are included in at least one of these hypotheses.
