Dear Dr. XXX,

Thank you for your submission of Manuscript ID AJH-13-0763 entitled "XXX," to the American Journal of Hematology.

Every manuscript submitted to AJH undergoes a rapid in-house review to determine if it is suitable for the journal and if it has priority ranking in relationship to all other manuscripts being considered for publication that justifies its review by external experts. Manuscripts are rejected without external review if they are deemed not suitable for the journal or if they have low priority ranking.

Unfortunately, we have determined that we are unable to consider your manuscript for publication.  You will appreciate the fact that AJH has an overall acceptance rate of < 25%.  We can only accept papers that have a high priority based on the novel and clinically relevant nature of the findings reported or a complete and careful review of an important topic.
We very much regret having to make a negative decision on this manuscript, but we thank you for submitting it to AJH for consideration.  I hope the outcome of this specific submission will not discourage you from submitting future manuscripts.
