Have you lurked today?

Nowadays, more and more friends prefer to log in the private chatting tools, such as QQ and change its mode into “invisible”, which is normally referred to as “lurking”. When they meet the one they would like to chat with, they will show up and make greetings with him/her. More often, they will stay there the whole day keeping silent and open QQ to check who has logged in when hearing the “drumming” sound and then begin to lurk again. According to the research, it is the sign of being aged in mentality. People would not like to communicate with others and say in a corner, watching others quietly. Wow, frankly speaking, I almost lurk every day. When I start my computer, and the first thing I do is to log in the QQ or MSN. But I will set the mode as "invisible". But I don't think this is the sign of being aged in mentality. As you all know, if you always show up, and many strangers want to join you and chat with you. In fact, chatting there will waste a lot of time, sometimes, you just stay there to listen a stranger's unsatisfaction about the world, about his or her life, about his or her feelings. Then, you will find you are influenced by his or her pessimistic emotions. If you spend so much time and just want to get this, then I have nothing to say. But this is not what I want to get. During this time, I can surfer the Internet to get something I'm interested in and learn something, know something new, but not kill my life by that way. But of course, you can also find some good friends, but the probability is so small. So I prefer to lurk when I'm online. And QQ and MSN has become a place where I connect with my friends, my classmates, my colleagues. I'm satisfied with such kind of communication. I'm still young in mentality, at least I think so. Well, just walk on my own way, and let others tell. |

normally, i would set my QQ as available, as long as i am not at woking time. actually, it doesnot matter much, beacuse no matter what my state is, the person would talk to me if he or she wants, people would not talk to me even when i am on line if they have no business.  anyway, to tell the truth, i have no idea why people lurk. if you donot have time, just do not log in. right?
