[求助] 求助：Vasp安装问题，持续二天未摸到头绪，大虾救命

贫僧第一次发帖,linux菜鸟，只懂得一些简单命令，使用linux系统版本：ubuntu8.04
笔记本联想G480，32位，官网上没有linux下的驱动程序，故而在ubuntu下无法上网
贫僧以前不是干这一行的，刚刚涉足第一性原理计算领域，欲安装Vasp软件，看到论坛中有一篇帖子关于vasp4.6的安装（链接：http://muchong.com/html/201109/2956358.html），按上面的来，输入：
sudo apt-get install build-essential
sudo apt-get install libstdc++5
均显示找不到软件包，利用ubuntu8.04.iso挂载，好不容易费了半天时间才算是把build-essential给弄好，libstdc++5也找了半天，最后不知道是否弄好（极有可能没弄好）。
安装intel fotran编译器，版本是11.0.069，前面还算顺利，但是到一步却卡住了，Terminal显示信息为：

运行在IA-32组件上的Intel的核心数学库安装失败？是这么翻译的吗？

问题：
1.libstdc++5怎么才能装上？如果需要下载从哪里下载？如何能够检验是否安装上？
2.intel安装中出现的那个问题是什么意思，如何解决？

单单一个软件的安装，就耗去了贫僧二天的时间，泪奔中，请诸位施主广施援手，贫僧不甚感激，阿弥陀佛

1.楼主的ubuntu8.04也太老了吧。现在最新都到13.04了。楼主换一下吧。
2.libstdc++5，下载deb包，ubuntu下直接双击安装就行。
换个新的，一般驱动啥的支持都没问题。百度直接搜ubuntu，下一个就行。做个ubuntu的u盘启动盘，装起来很方便的。

网上有个libstdc++.so.5的包，是一个东西吗？这个东西是干嘛的？编译器？
