The liver is the major site of synthesis of ceruloplasmin in which the precursor protein of ceruloplasmin is synthesized previously. While the precursor protein moves into the secretion region of hepatic cells, it will be permeated by the copper atoms to form ceruloplasmin that will be excreted from the hepatic cells finally. As a symbol of the nutriture of copper in vivo, ceruloplasmin can be involved in the transport of copper and the regulation of the metabolism of iron and provided with the antioxidant activity.
