Up to now, the main ways of earthquake rescue are ground-dependent rescue and air-dependent rescue. The ground-dependent rescue which is the most popular and the largest range of search is taken after the occurrence of natural disasters, in which ambulances, fire fighting trucks, and other vehicles available all can be used, having the advantage of high flexibility and large range of research, more teams can be dispatched compared to air-dependent rescue. Ground-dependent rescue include water-dependent rescue, land-dependent rescue and mountain-dependent rescue.
Air-dependent rescue is mainly used to perform large-scale emergencies rescue mission, to which a seamless rescue chain is built with the organic combination of helicopters, ground ambulance, hospitals of a transport emergency green channel, etc. The great advantage of air-dependent rescue is that no time and space constraint when the earthquake or other natural disasters occurred, less affected by the traffic congestion and terrain complexity of the disaster area compared to ground-dependent rescue, and also largely short the time of transshipment in rescue.
