在 THE SUN ALSO RISES 一文中这个句子为何这样翻译

When he said this he smiled, anxious that neither the bull-fight critic nor I would think he was boasting. ( 此句对照的中文译文：他说这话时一直微笑着，唯恐那斗牛评论员和我认为他在吹嘘。） 我没有看懂 neither........nor........, 在此处怎么这么翻译，我所学习的 neither .......nor......, 是 “既不..........也不.......", 表达全部否定的意义，所以不理解这句话的翻译，请高手指点迷津。谢谢！ |
