| Some groups have carried out systematic experimental studies of the influence of third elements on AMR. It was reported by Chen et al.[31] that the addition of the element X (X being Al, Nb, Si, and Zr) into the NiFe film generally decreases the MR value of the film, while increasing the film¡¯s resistivity ¦Ñ. However, the addition of the notable elements such as Au, Pd and Pt into permalloy films on the AMR has less influence. Furthermore, the influence of the addition of third elements into permalloy films on AMR has also been investigated by Nagura and co-workers [32]. They observed AMR decreases rapidly for the addition of Sc, Ti, V, Cr, Ge, Zr, Nb, Mo, Ru, Ta and W. On the other hand, the decreases in AMR are relatively slow for the addition of Co, Cu, Pd, Ag, Pt and Au. They have also found the tendency that the influence of the elements which are situated near Ni in the periodic table is smaller than that of the elements which are situated far from Ni. |

Ref. Only! Some groups have carried out systematic experimental studies on the influences of the third elements on AMR. Chen et al.[31] reported that the addition of element X (X being Al, Nb, Si, and Zr) into the NiFe film generally decreases the MR value of the film, while it increases the film¡¯s resistivity ¦Ñ. However, the addition of noble elements, such as Au, Pd and Pt, into the permalloy films has less influence on the AMR. Nagura and co-workers further investigated the influence of the third elements on the AMR of the permalloy films [32]. It was found that the AMR rapidly decreases when elements of Sc, Ti, V, Cr, Ge, Zr, Nb, Mo, Ru, Ta and W were introduced, while it relatively slowly decreases when elelments of Co, Cu, Pd, Ag, Pt and Au were introduced. Interestingly, it was also reavled that the influence of the elements adjacent to the Ni in the periodic table is smaller than those far away from Ni. |
