大家好,我是苏黎世联邦理工的一名在读博士生,我的硕士论文导师Arkady去年收到澳大利亚的邀请在昆士兰大学重新组建了一个实验室。鉴于我硕士论文时期的优异表现,我的导师比较倾向于招收一些亚洲top大学的学生。
Arkady人非常好,我在他手下做了将近一年的时间。他是那种在欧洲非常常见的教授:懂得享受生活和做学问(没有美国大学教授那么push),同时能在世界顶级杂志nature上发不少文章。

Job title: Master and PhD positions investigating quantum physics of microwave photons
and artificial atoms based on superconducting circuits at the University of Queensland (UQ),
Australia.
Description: Starting 2013 we established a new lab at the Department of Physics at UQ, Brisbane, Australia (http://www.smp.uq.edu.au/physics). The lab will be also a part of EQuS Center (http://equs.org/) which combines efforts of the leading Australian groups (both experimental and theoretical) to engineer quantum technologies. We seek motivated Master and PhD students who will master fabrication and/or measurement techniques for quantum superconducting circuits to study of fundamentals of light-matter interaction with emphasis on application to quantum information processing. The prospective candidates are expected to have strong interest in:
•quantum physics (solid state physics, quantum optics and quantum information)
and at least in some of experimental techniques:
•fabrication,
•cryogenics and low-noise measurements.
The research work will be conducted in the enthusiastic creative atmosphere and in tight
collaboration with other members of EQuS Center.
Background: Superconducting quantum circuits are artificial structures with a possibility to

design and engineer their key properties. These unique features have made these engineered

systems to be one of the most promising candidates for realizing a quantum computer in

solid state, have allowed for exploration of quantum optical phenomena on-chip and have

facilitated the implementation of a quantum control of a nanomechanical degree of freedom.

Within the Centre for Engineered Quantum Structures we will establish fabrication and

measurement techniques for the next generation of superconducting nanodevices consisting of superconducting qubits or artificial atoms, microwave transmission lines and high quality superconducting resonators.
Procedure: Interested candidates are expected to apply for a scholarship to cover stipend and fees as required by the UQ admission policy.
