First or Upper Second-class honours

The first question here is: do you have the academic qualifications to be accepted as a student for a research degree? Most universities require First or Upper Second-class honours in a relevant British undergraduate degree; some universities will accept Lower Seconds. If you already have a master’s degree it is usually acceptable, whatever the class of your undergraduate degree. 请问这段话是什么意思？尤其是，什么是First or Upper Second-class honors? 谢谢！ |

actually it does not matter too much. The official information for international qualification is from NARIC http://www.naric.org.uk, the university admission office normally does not do a thorough check. the average score above 80 should be acceptable, even lower than that, nothing to lose if you try |

| 在英国，大学本科毕业的时候是分等级的。每科满分20分，一般18-20分为First Class， 15-17分为Upper Second Class，12-14分为 Lower Second Class，9-11分为Third Class。 有的学校是用平均分来算，有的学校是用百分比（比如，一半成绩在First Class， 全部成绩在Upper Second Class以上毕业就叫First Class） |
