Applicants for the position must meet the following requirements: Highly motivated individuals hold a PhD degree in Chemistry on or before this summer, preferably in synthetic organic chemistry. Attend an on-site interview and aptitude test which will be conducted in English. Priority will be given to those experienced with strong skills in developing transition metal catalyzed organic transformations and in using glovebox daily, or to those experienced in heterocyclic carbene complex synthesis and SAR study. The project will be designated to design novel and greener strategies for chemical feedstocks functionalization such as multi-components coupling and related mechanistic studies. We are also particularly interested in candidates who would be willing to participate in other interdisciplinary projects related to material science or polymer research. The successful candidate must have strong analytical, oral and written communication skills, and will be also responsible for setting up laboratory for their own research project. Preferably have a synthetic organic chemistry background. The project will be designated to design novel and greener strategies for chemical feedstocks functionalization such as co-polymerization and bio-mass conversion. The successful candidate must have strong analytical, oral and written communication skills, and will be also responsible for setting up laboratory for their own research project. The deadline for the 1st round applications is February 28, 2013. Salary and appointment terms The appointment will be based on the individuals experience. The salary will not be less than RMB120,000./yr, and social security benefits will be provided. Probation period: 2 months, the appointment starting date is quite flexible, preferably starting at this summer/autumn. Application: Provide a 1 page CV (Font = 10), listing relevant academic experiences, awards and qualifications e.g. 3-5 most representative publications. Provide a half page CV, listing skills and hobbies other than chemistry and computing qualifications. Provide 2-3 references/contacts from former institutes (one must be current employer/supervisor).
