This is important as a large number of colored substances interact with each other in a mixture and hence cannot be studied by this technique. (b) determine the suitable wavelength (¦Ë and ¦Ë¡¯) for the analysis. For a two-components system, the most suitable wavelength is where the absorbance for the first component is the strongest while the absorbance of the second component is the weakest. (c) determine the values of the constants k1(¦Ë), k1(¦Ë¡¯), k2(¦Ë) and k2(¦Ë¡¯). (d) measure the absorbance of a mixture at ¦Ë and ¦Ë¡¯.
