[求助] 请问“a self contained manner”是什么意思

一个评阅人在评阅意见中提出“Abstract should be revised to clearly explain the methods in a self contained manner”，请问“a self contained manner”是什么意思？

在上述用词中，只有the essential backbone和shed light onto是一个国外教授在早期给我的摘要修改中给出的词。其他的句子都是按照论文的内容写的，难道有什么问题吗？

应该是用自己的方式去写，不是参照别人的方法，把你的abstract内容讲清楚。不要断断续续，把要说的内容拼凑完了事，应该做到连贯，能够让别人可以一口气读下去，不会产生停顿感，那就差不多了。

我的摘要的写法没有参照现有文献的格式，初写时有些句子也经过国外一个专家的修改。也找过教英语的老师看过，她认为我的写法还是很有特色。后来还经过一个专门机构的润稿，感觉读起来也很通顺。我刚又读了一篇，觉得有一个地方上下衔接不够好。不知道还有没有其他情况？
