Lee et al. [94] developed an UV-activated colorimetric oxygen indicator, which uses nanoparticles of TiO2 tophotosensitize the reduction ofmethylene blue (MB) by triethanolamine in a polymer encapsulation medium, using UVA light. Upon UV irradiation, the sensor bleaches and remains colourless, until it is exposed by oxygen, when its original blue colour is restored. The rate of colour recovery is proportional to the level of oxygen exposure. |
