how hard as a teacher!

i am now a form teacher in a middle school. How hard I my life is! I like teaching, but i don`t like preaching. I am so flabby, they don`t listen to me. my words are nothing to them. actually, i never talked too much. at the very beginning, i smiled to them, gradually, i wept in front of them, at last, i am desperate. what should i do? quit or persist? everything is nothing, isn`t it, Buddha? whatever, i want to live, to live a happy life. Let it be, let it go. tommorow is another day. |

Everything has a beginning and for most careers, the beginning always has some difficulties and frustrations that needs getting over. I still remember when I started to be a high shool teacher. Though I had a lot of passion, I didn't know how to handle various personalities. It took me three years and many stomaches to learn how to be a teacher who had some authority so students would listen to you. Try to talk to experienced teachers and sometimes your leaders. They may help you a lot. At the same time, it is a good idea to come up with some teaching methods that can interest the students. I suggest you watch an American movie:The Ron Clark Story (or the Triumph, which might inspire you a lot.) [ Last edited by 五四青年 on 2012-11-5 at 13:11 ] |

The first very moment you choose to be a teacher, you are ready to sacrifice yourself to the solemn and holy career. You were once a student and you must understand maybe you are not a naughty one, but there will be a mix of naughty, non-naughty but overall 99% are naughty children. And you have this chance to teach them, not only academic contents, but also moral, human relationship, and many others to help children to build their foundamentals of life. The essence of education start from your hands on work, so very often we named the teacher as gardener. If you have not enough patience, then yes I suggest you should quit as early as possible, but before that you can tell me what other job that need no patience... I used to be a super naughty student, but after 35 years, I have a chance to return to mother school and see only a few teachers I knew, I have the heart of extreme respect and they are happy to see me again as a well-educated successful man, they saw a golden fruit in their eyes. Both parties eyes got wet... |

A teacher, many of the person want to be, especially for a girl or woman I think! A very good job, I also want to be a teacher before, but now I know I havent the opportunity! You will have three monthes holiday in one year, I think this is very good compared with many other jobs. You can teach different students and you can also have different attitude to play with them I think! You must feel happy eveyday, you spread your knowledge to them everyday. Its very great I think!
