PHD recruitment in Australian Center for Visual Technologies

Multiple PhD Scholarships in Computer Vision and Statistical Machine Learning at The Australian Centre for Visual Technologies (ACVT), School of Computer Science, The University of Adelaide. Applications are invited for several PhD scholarships within the Computer Vision program in The University of Adelaide. Requirements: Applicants should have an Master degree (or equivalent) in EE, CS, or math. Research experience in computer vision, machine learning is a plus. A good academic record and good programming skills in C/C++ and Matlab are required. The minimum English requirements (both IELTS and TOEFL are acceptable) are http://www.adelaide.edu.au/resea ... s/english_language/ IELTS: Overall band score of 6.5 AND each Band scores 6.5 in Writing and Speaking AND 6.0 in Listening and Reading TOEFL: Paper-based - total score of 575 with 4.5 in the TWE (Test of Written English) OR Internet-based - total score of 79 with 24 in Writing AND 22 in Speaking AND 13 in Listening and Reading For CSC students: University of Adelaide and the China Scholarship Council (CSC) have entered a collaborative arrangement to provide research opportunities to select high quality research students from China. Students selected as CSC scholarship recipients will be able to enrol in a University of Adelaide PhD program and undertake full-time study for up to four years. University of Adelaide is one of the top research universities in Australia (a member of Group of Eight). The Computer Vision Group in Adelaide is arguably the largest in Australia. Our research interests span various topics in computer vision, including 3D reconstruction, real-time object detection, generic object recognition, robust model fitting, and statistical machine learning etc. Position: Scholarships are mainly for 3~4 years with around 28,000 AUD a year (tax free), plus tuition fee waiver.
