Effective management of maintenance spare parts is a critical contributor to equipment operating performance and to the cost of the maintenance investment. Unavailability of the right parts may have a serious, negative impact on equipment availability, due to increased downtime, and on resource efficiency, due to schedule interruptions. Parts selection and management will also impact component and asset reliability.
