The condition of equipment is subject to a regular, formal audit to ascertain that satisfactory standards are maintained. Whilst a 5s program drives improvement in the standard of cleanliness and organization within the whole plant, OAC should drive improvements in the condition of the individual pieces of equipment. This is driven through a program of machine refurbishment to bring equipment back to ¡®as new¡¯, as well as through operator involvement and ownership. All defects should be repaired in a timely and permanent manner. There should be no evidence of temporary fixes(which in reality never get fixed!). Examples of this include temporary patches on leaking and drip trays under leaking valves. This can be assessed during the site tour |
