However, it requires major revisions involving, in particular, what concerns the pratical application of the approach proposed using a GA. MINOR COMMENTS: 1) Include a list of acronyms 2) Include a list of symbols 3) Check Eqn (15), C(x) = TC/W ?? 4) Format references according to RESS MAJOR COMMENTS 1) Provide more details on the fundamentals for Eqn. (16) or provide reference to previous work to justify its use. 2) Give details about the GA used: 2.1 Sort of GA (single-objective, steady state GA, ...) 2.2 Encoding of individuals in the population (real or integer encoding, parameters being encoded, ... 2.3 Step 3 is unclear. Provide more details on how the fitness function is obtained (formulation), in particular considering both Eqn (15) and (16), the later being the constraint. Thus, explain how the constraint are addressed in the GA performance (adopting a sort of penalization, etc ??) 3) Section 5 Empirical results provides the example of application. Need major improvement 3.1 Describe the physical item under study (is it a real equipment or just a numerical example) A real example is more approprite for the RESS audience 3.2 Provide more details on the results found for C(x), p(x) and what is represented in Tables and Figures. For example, now it is not easy to relize what a solution satisfy (or not) the constraint, p. 4) Conclusion section is of limited value. They are not based on a real and practical example of the methodology (a real system consisting of several components). The example of application is too simple for testing both the model and the GA.
