The use of straw and forestry waste to produce fuel ethanol is the problem of food, energy and environmental issues such as the effective method, also contribute to the solution of straw in situ burning cause environmental pollution and resource waste problem, accord with the demand of sustainable development can be. Research shows that synchronization saccharification fermentation is the preparation before the eyes of cellulosic ethanol ideal process, this is because with the traditional step saccharification fermentation method, compared with synchronous saccharification fermentation under the advantages: (1) can eliminate glucose accumulation on cellulose enzyme system feedback inhibition, improve the utilization rate of enzyme and the ethanol yield rate; (2) the simplify production process, save equipment investment; (3) continuous generation ethanol and maintain a low sugar concentration, can reduce the risk of the mixed fungus pollution. So is acknowledged as the most promising cellulose ethanol fermentation method.

Straw and other agricultural and forestry wastes to produce fuel ethanol is an effective way to solve the food, energy and environmental issues, but also help to solve the problems of environmental pollution and waste of resources caused by straw situ burning, in line with the needs of sustainable development. Studies have shown that the simultaneous saccharification and fermentation is the ideal process for preparation of cellulose ethanol, which is compared with the traditional step-by-step saccharification and fermentation method, simultaneous saccharification and fermentation method has the following advantages: (1) to eliminate glucose accumulation of cellulase feedback inhibition; ② simplify the production process to improve the utilization of the enzyme and ethanol yield, savings in equipment investment; ③ continue to produce ethanol, and to maintain a low concentration of sugar can be reduced the risk of bacterial contamination. Therefore is widely considered to be the most promising cellulosic ethanol fermentation methods.
