When the adding amount of sintering aids reached A% and B%, the relative density of multiphase ceramic materials decreased to C% and D% respectively. This is because the effect on sintering by liquid phase were focused on early-middle period and precipitated the sintering process; in late period of sintering (especially when density is larger than E%), the densification of materials was mainly completed by distribution of grain boundary volume and liquid phase had little effect on densification of materials. The excess liquid phase could increase the growth of grains and therefore affected the functions of multiphase ceramic materials. |
