Think about your Chinese,when you talk with your parents,you classmates,no difficulty will you find in your conversation.In other words,it seems ridiculous for a native speaker afraid to speaker their native language for fear of mistakes.All in all,we learn English,and we use it,we find deprivation in English ,we continue to learn English.When you figure out you cannot understand them throughly,it just means you are not competent enough.Briefly,you are supposed to do extra work in your English.Accept the fact that U need improvement in stead of feeling frustrating!

I think this not only happens to you, but to most of the chinese graduates. I remember when I first talked to foreigners, I couldn't understand them. It is very frustrating. I guess that it is not all about pronunciation or vocabulary. It is about rhythm as well. You need to try to speak slowly and use simple words to make yourself clear, and  gradually you will be able to communicate with each other.
Confidence is very important. You have to trust yourself that your english is not that bad. Foreigners do learn and speak second language as well, and they know how it feels to speak a foreign language.

Don't you believe it, there are many English oriented people they cannot speak English very well, or obeying the Grammar they should, and have tons of glitches in sentence.

This is same true that many US people have never fly airplane in their life.
