I dont have an English name, because we always called our Chinese name at our work place.
When I registered in here, I used the easily remembered and usually common name in our English books.

But for English native speaker, they never think about the meaning of the word they had chosen for their baby's name. They might select a name because they admire a person so they would use the same name. That is why the son may have the same name as his father's sometimes. e.g. A boy was named as Jack may because the parents hpoe the baby would be a people like Jack when he grown up.
