Would you like some "snakes"? 已有2人参与

| This is a real story. One day, it is almost daybreak after a long operation lfor several hours, one of my colleagues wants to express his gratitude to a hand fellow from USA for accompanying him for almost a whole night. So, he says enthusiastically to him: would you like some "snakes"? that fellow seems to be perplexed at what he says at first, and then our colleague recaps it twice, but still prounces it as "snakes" not "snacks". All at once, that guy becomes so excited that he says "yes, I'd love to" with exaggerated expression on his face in an American style, hissing and imitating the typical motion of a snake. All of a sudden, my colleague understands what a silly "mistake" he has made. In order not to go back on his words and keep our "Chinese dignity", my colleague treated him in a real SNAKE restaurant, where cost him an arm and a leg (more than ￥2000 ). Since then, whenever other foreigners come, we all couldn't help recalling this anecdote and have a lot of fun. |
