They inform, advice and support researchers at all stages of a grant application. Dr. Oliver Heiri ?C ERC Starting Grant Holder ?C University of Berne Dr. Oliver Heiri is a paleo-ecologist with a MSc from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETHZ) and a PhD from the University of Bern and research experience at the Universities of Bergen (N) and Utrecht (NL). He recently moved back from Utrecht to establish his group at the University of Bern, working on climate research. He was awarded an ERC Starting Grant in 2009. Dr. Akiyoshi Kuzume ?C Marie Curie Fellow IIF ?C University of Bern Akiyoshi works on an IIF project to investigate electrocatalytic properties of well-ordered model surfaces for basic interpretation in power generation processes. He will share his Marie Curie experience and how it has been beneficial for his career. Quick Presentation of Marie Curie and ERC ERC Starting Independent Researcher Grants The ERC Starting Grants are designed to support excellent researchers at the stage at which they are starting or consolidating their own research team. Eligibility: 2-12 years after PhD. Size of the Grant: Up to ? 2 mio per grant; each grant for up to 5 years. This scheme is open to all fields of science. Marie Curie International Incoming Fellowships (IIF) The IIF aims to attract top-class experienced researchers active in non-European countries to undertake research projects in Europe with a view to developing mutually-beneficial research cooperation. The IIF consists of a financial support for projects of a period of 2 years max. |
