是不是近似推理方面的

the overarching application of space capsule reentering the atmosphere. The overall goal is to make reliable predictions for a number of quantities of interest in order to design safe thermal protection systems for space capsules.

learning a model from data and using this model to make probabilistic predictions  这点和ml 很像，While ML originated from the computer science community, the UQ originated from the physics and engineering community. As such, UQ is applied mainly to continuous-time models based on physics。 怕这个只是搞纯理论。。。

我的意思是怕只是理论研究 实际中用的少，另外发现很多都是机械 航空 力学 等学院的老师会做这个， 计算机系做这个总不太踏实
