This may include (1) electrocatalyst-enabled modification of Li2O2 with desired chemical/physical properties and structures and (2) alternative electrocatalysts that can suppress the side reactions, etc. 3 Nonprecious bifunctional electrocatalysts (i.e., for both ORR and OER) are required for Li−air batteries.
