Postdoctoral Fellowship and PhD Position in Environmental Geochemistry Lab Yonsei University, Seoul, Korea Environmental Geochemistry Laboratory at Yonsei University invites applications for a postdoctoral research fellowship and a PhD position in the area of environmental geosciences, aquatic chemistry, and analytical chemistry. Ideal candidates for a postdoc position should have a PhD in relevant fields and a strong background in one or more of the following areas: 1) redox kinetics; 2) dissolution/precipitation of solids; 3) sorption/desorption reactions; 4) synthesis of metal (oxyhydr)oxides. Current research topics in the Environmental Geochemistry Laboratory at Yonsei University include but not limited to: - Natural contamination processes of soil and groundwater by Cr(VI) of geogenic sources - Factors controlling solubility, sorption affinity, and transformation of metal oxides - Removal mechanisms of environmental contaminants using zero-valent metals - Natural geochemical processes controlling remobilization of U(VI). These positions provide an opportunity to bring in the candidate’s own creativity and self-responsibility. Applicants should be highly motivated and committed to pursuing interdisciplinary research particularly focusing on environmental issues. Good computer and writing skills (English) are advantageous. The postdoc appointment is initially for one year and can be extended for the next couple of years depending on the performance. The monthly stipend ranges from $2000 to $3000 depending on the candidate’s academic career for the postdoc position.
