Thank you£¡ In some studies, fluorophores are indeed embedded inside the film whose thickness is ca. 10 ¦Ìm, they used this film as sensors to detect pH via measuring the change of fluorescence intensity. And during the process, they fix position of film making sure that lase rpulse irradiates at the same position. My question is "whether this means can be used to accurately detect pH as a sendor or not". |

(1) If fluorophores are embedded inside the film, you should consider the possbile loss of light owing the scattering/reflection/absorption of film materials. (2) It depends on how you treat with these films. If the optical properties do not change significantly, I think you can make a rough comparison. (3) It depends on how fast these quenchers can diffuse into the film for interaction. The charge, size of 'quenchers' can all affect the result. |
