如题

The quality of the Figures should be improved to meet the standard of the Journal, for example, the figure captures should be put in front of the figures. The figure 5 probably won't reproduce well in the journal, because of the very small text of the axis labels. I did not have access to the figure files that the authors downloaded, but perhaps they have already been edited to improve clarity. This is something the editor can check.

小虫百思不解，这个“figure captures”指的是啥意思

是说大图之前要有个截图？ 还是说是图中的哪一部分？

同时后面那几句是说图5要改还是可以不改呢？

【答案】应助回帖

应该提高图表的质量以达到本刊要求。如表头应该放在表的前面（如F1.）。表5因坐标轴标示文本字体太小，在刊中不能很好的重现。我没有进入图表文件的权限（如作者载入权限），但有可能该图表已经被编辑过了。 以上是编辑复核意见。

是不是指figure caption（插图标题）？
图5中的坐标轴标签字体太小，担心下场印刷效果不好，如果编辑能处理就没有问题。

我只是猜测，因为下一句“I did not have access to the figure files that the authors downloaded, but perhaps they have already been edited to improve clarity.”中的downloaded好像也有点不明白。到底是作者download还是upload的图片文件？
评审专家不一定都是操英语母语的，建议你仔细看一下这个期刊的投稿要求。
