I have two projects which are as follows:

1.       Development of polymeric composite membranes for gas separation.
Nano-inorganic fillers are impregnated into these polymeric membranes to improve the permeability and selectivity of various gases such as  helium, hydrogen, oxygen, carbon dioxide and nitrogen. The pore sizes of these membranes are in angstroms dimensions and can be specially tailored to separate one gas from another or a mixture of gases. This is a continuation of a present PhD project.

2.       Hydrogen energy - production and purification of hydrogen by thermo-catalytic decomposition of methane.
The methane gas can be derived from natural gas or produced from the anaerobic digestion of food-wastes. The project involves the study of the reaction process, the use of suitable catalysts and measuring the conversion of methane into hydrogen. This is a continuation of a present PhD project.
