Abstract: In the melting extrusion process of the waste tire rubber powder (GTR) and high density polyethylene (HDPE), a high speed and high shear stress-induced twin-screw extruder screw method was used to study the effect of twin-screw extruder screw speed and extrusion the reaction temperature on the physical properties of thermoplastic mterials. Besides, the effects of the desulfurization agent butanol, alkyl polysulfides (420 or 450) and n-butylamine desulfurization of tire rubber blends (DGTR/HDPE) of gel content, flow rate, sol-infrared absorption spectroscopy and desulfurization tire rubber blends (DGTR/HDPE) ethylene propylene diene monomer rubber (EPDM) dynamic cross-linking process on the mechanical properties of such materials. It was shown that high-speed twin-screw extruder with high shear could induce the scission of cross-linked network chain and reconciliation crosslinking reaction for waste tire rubber blends, causing desulfurization blends gel content decreased and reducing the size of non-melting gel particles and increasing the flow rate of the melt. In fact, those four kinds of promoters played obvious role to promote the desulfurization reaction, in which 450 or n-butylamine could promote the desulfurization effect and decrease content of desulfurization products gel and increase the flow rate of the melting. In this way, the physical properties of dynamic cross-linked thermoplastic elastomer were significantly improved. When n-butylamine as desulfurization agents was promoted, the best desulfurization reaction conditions (240 ¡æ and 1000r/min) under, DGTR / HDPE / EPDM dynamically crosslinked thermoplastic elastomer tensile strength and elongation at break were obtained as 12.5MPa and 440.6%, respectively.
