你应该 accept 一份邀请还是 except 呢？你在餐后吃的是 dessert 还是 desert ？英语中有许许多多的令人迷惑的单词。这儿有一些在适当的时间使用适当的单词的指导！ dessert and desert Dessert 是一种甜点，而 the desert 是又热，又干还到处是沙。 accept 意思是接受或是同意某事物，而 except 意思是排除。 there and their 前一个单词是地点副词而后者是物主代词。例如Their house is over there. principle and principal Principles 是信条，价值观或是基本原则，而 principal 意思是学校的校长，或是主要的事物。 advice and advise 前一个单词是个名词而后一个是动词，因此你可以advise someone by giving them good advice. borrow and lend To borrow 意思是借贷某物，而 to lend 意思是借出某物。例如Can I borrow your car? Sorry, I can't lend it to you today. despite and although 这些单词有相近的意思但是用法不同。 Despite 是介词而 although 是连词。例如 He won the race despite his injury. He won the race although he had an injury. affect and effect 前一个单词是动词而后一个是名词，例如The effect of the war is enormous; it has affected all sectors of the economy. personal and personnel 你的 personal 详细信息包括你的名字，年龄和国籍，而 personnel 意思是公司的职员。 assure and ensure To assure 某人意思是打消他们的疑惑或使他们安心，而 ensure 意思是确保某事发生。例如I assured him that you would be there, so please ensure that you get to the meeting on time. |
