[交流] Sentence analysis

"A desire to throw over reality a light that never was might give way abruptly to the desire on the part of what we might consider a novelist scientist to record exactly and concretely the structure and texture of a flower."

This sentence is so complex, could somebody analyze its structure for me?

"to throw over reality a light " is a clause for "A desire", And "that......a flower" too.

ehhhh.....this is not a sentence firstly. This is a noun "desire" with two stuff to describe it. one is to-objective and one is that-clause.

我尝试分析一下：
主句：A desire might give way  to the desire .
        to throw over reality a light  动词不定式做 A desire 的后置定语。that never was 是light的后置定语从句。
     on the part of what we might consider a novelist scientist to record exactly and concretely the structure and texture of a flower 是the desire的介词后置定语，what引导介词of的宾语从句。

只是 A desir 与the desire的修饰语比较多，结构还是比较简单的。
