Results: 14-day intralipid lavage can induce apparent increase of level in TC and TG of female KM rats while the same method is not sensitive to male one. The hormonal hyperlipemia induced by dexamethasone (DXM) has no gender difference in increase level of TC but has apparent differences in increase level of TG, especially in female rats.
Conclusion: It is appropriate to choose female rats to induce experimental hyperlipemia in KM rats by intralipid lavage or dexamethasone (DXM).
