Analyzing the IT as a foundation for a proper integration of structural properties of data/information, bearing significant ramifications for the administrative and learning structure of the school. Selected administrative and executive staff from California Open School (COS) was asked to participate in a series of interviews. The questions were focused on how staff members perceived the role and functionality of the IT services on the overall value of information sharing services in a charter school. Research also used available historical archives and a number of data sources that represented evolution of the information technology and information sharing and their functionality. Another important aspect of the research was direct observation and participant observation as later described in greater detail in chapter 3. The author of the research had a unique opportunity to conduct research as a part of approved business project. The represented case study as a research methodology allowed for a rich description and was able to combine qualitative (descriptive and analytical) and quantitative (statistical and numerical) elements.
