Groups of six animals received oral candesartan-cilexetil (TCV-116; ASTRA,Mo ¨ lndal, Sweden) at 10mg/kg per day for 14 days or received vehicle, both dissolved in their drinking water. Candesartan-cilexetil was first dissolved as a 1 mg/ml stock solution in polyethylene glycol400/ethanol/Cremophor EL (Sigma)/water (10/5/2/83%), adjusted to pH 9 with 0.2 M Na2CO3.
