Abstract The purpose£ºA pre-treatment device for measuring tritium contents in biological samples is designed in order to monitor the effect of tritium emissions from nuclear facilities on health of nearby biological samples and residents. The methods: There are twelve types of tritium with different activity standard used to fit the standard curve of detection efficiency. And the chemical recovery of tritium in free water and organic are detected by three tritium and 3H-TDR with different activity standards. The results of three biological samples from our lab are compared with the results from the environmental radiation monitor management station of Jiangsu province. The results: The standard curve fitted in our lab can be used in low-level environmental radiation measurement (E = 0.2328). An average chemical recovery of 95.4% and a good repeat is obtained from treating sample with plus standard sample of 40.0 g of rice by our device, the standard tritium water and 3H-TDR average chemical recovery was 95.4%, and the results are comparatively close to t = 0.479, P> 0.05. The Conclusion: the Pre-treatment device can be used to measure the organic tritium in environmental biological samples. |
