In this paper, by using cheap and readily available potassium hydroxide as catalyst, 1,2-Wittig rearrangement of the compounds 3a and 3b in ethanol solution under mild conditions was carried to produce alcohol, which is oxidized subsequently into 4a and 4b in the air, respectively. |
