Heat needed to dry cotton straw increases with the increase of moisture content. This is due to the increase in moisture content directly which results the increase in the heat of water vaporization as the latent heat of water vaporization is larger than heat capacity of dry straw. While the drying heat decreases as drying temperature decreases because only little water can be removed and the drying rate is also lower at a lower temperature. |
