Heat needed to dry cotton straw increases with the increase of moisture content. This because the increase in moisture content directly results in the increase in the heat of water vaporization because the latent heat of water vaporization is larger than heat capacity of dry straw. While the drying heat decreases as drying temperature decreases because only some of the water can be removed and the drying rate is also lower at a lower drying temperature. |
