About 18 months later Chan Wai-Hing died of blood cancer and the choir sang the same hymn in his funeral; requested by Tse Yuan-Man. Tse had not even distributed their wedding photos because she had been busy looking after her feeble husband. She knew that her husband had blood cancer when she married him, but she insisted to walk the last leg of his life with him. The wedding photos of Dr. Chan Wai-Hing and Dr. Tse Yuan-Man will never be distributed. Yesterday morning, almost one year after Dr. Chan Wai-Hing left, Dr. Tse Yuan-Man, died in the Intensive Care Unit of the hospital that she had been serving. In March, she volunteered for front-line duty in the fight against Sars. She lost the fight. A male nurse who contracted Sars in April, in the same incident together with Dr. Tse died a couple of days before her, but the patient had recovered. Lau Wing-Kai, the male nurse was 46 when he passed away. Dr. Tse Yuan-Man died at the age of 35 yesterday morning at 4 a.m. They were the first Sars deaths in the Public Health Service of Hong Kong who died in their line of duty. Perhaps she will meet her husband in heaven. |
