Each paper should begin with an abstract of not more than 150 words. Type the first line of the abstract on the 17th line 73 mm from the top of the type area, as shown on the transparent type area overlay. Type the word ABSTRACT: followed directly by the abstract itself, which should run over both columns. Leave two blank lines before starting the text (or first heading) of the paper. 5. Headings Type primary headings in capital letters and secondary headings in lower case italics. Type headings flush against the left margin of the relevant column. Do not indent the heading and neither the first line of text following the heading. If a heading falls at the bottom of a column, transfer it to the top of the next column and leave open space at bottom. 6. Consistency of style Note the spacing, punctuation and caps in all the examples below. — References in the text: Figure 1, Figures 2-4, 6, 8a, b (not abbreviated) — References between parentheses: (Fig. 1), (Figs 2-4, 6, 8a, b) (abbreviated) — Author & Author (1989) instead of Author and Author (1989) — (Author et al. 1989) instead of (Author, Author & Author 1989) 7. References In the text, place the authors’ surnames (without initials) and the date of publication in parentheses. At the end of the paper, list all references in alphabetical order, using an unnumbered style with a hanging indentation. 8. Last check. Check your spelling . Spelling mistakes give the impression that you are not serious and professional with your work; have not put in enough effort; careless; not worthy of high assessment scores. Before airmailing your paper to the editor check the following points: no damaged lettering; no missing text; photographs, figures and tables of good quality; correct sequence of numbering on each page and in headings, subheadings, tables, figures and equations. 9. Copyright Authors are required to check if any material used (tables, illustrations, etc.) is covered by copyright and, if so, to obtain the appropriate permission for reproduction. It is usual to credit the source of such material whether or not it is covered by copyright. 10. Other points — Remember that your manuscript is camera ready and will not be edited. — Do not staple or fold your manuscript — Do not print or type the conference name or any page numbers on your manuscript 11. Notes for reviewers Papers should be assigned to one of the following grades: Acceptable for publication in its present form Acceptable for publication with minor revisions Acceptable for publication only with major revision Unacceptable The reviewer must provide justification for any status other than by submitting comments in the review form. |
