So we all gave him the horse laugh when he asked the new girl in class to go to a movie and she told him to get lost. 这时候,他的心里很高兴,也许还很得意,这就是the last laugh 例句 : I used to laugh at my roommate in college -- he'd stay in and study on weekends while I went out for a good time. But I guess he has the last laugh on me. He's a famous brain surgeon and me, I'm selling used cars and barely make enough to live on. words and idoms(英语惯用词) 63、to roll out the red carpet to honor / welcome sb.
