Thousands of words from Spanish have become part of the English language , and more words from Spanish are entering English all the time. Many Spanish words were absorbed into the English language in the sixteenth and seenteenth centuries, when explorers from Spain gave Spanish names to mountains, rivers, lakes, and new settlements in North America. Do you know the meanings for these places, Colorado, Florida, Los Angeles, San Fancisco and Fresno (They are named in Spanish names, and the names have been used by now)?
